I have been asked repeatedly if I shoot weddings…and the answer is a resounding “No!” I have helped with weddings for years and years…flowers, organization, planning, sewing…you name it. I know what a very big and SPECIAL day it is for the bride and groom and their families. But, when it comes to photographing those special days, I wouldn’t touch that job with a 10-foot pole. Why? Because I am a detail nut when it comes to photographs. I take my time and move every little thing I can to capture the EXACT image I am going for. And if I shoot it and don’t like what I see on the back of my camera…I make tiny adjustments until I get what I am going for. Welllllll…common sense tells you that that won’t work in a live wedding. And I respect the importance of that day too much to mess up capturing it for the couple. There are some AMAZING wedding photographers out there who point-adjust-shoot so VERY quickly, it just amazes me. And so, I refer inquiries to them happily.
BUT….well, my niece was married this past weekend, and hired an amazing wedding photo team to shoot the wedding day … start to finish. But not the rehearsal day and my brother-in-law asked me if I minded picking up my camera and capturing a few of the special moments for them. So, of course, I did. And it was fun…’cause there was no pressure for missing those special moments of the wedding day. I have added them to an album on Facebook. Please check them out. It was a beautiful wedding, fit for a princess. Congratulations to Thomas and Danielle Poucher. We wish you much love and happiness for years and years!
